I am not a big movie person. As a matter of fact, I RARELY go to the movies, but my daughter, who is off at college, saw “Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again” yesterday and messaged her younger sister emphatically stating that we must go see it today.
Since we both had the day off (yeah, that rarely happens mid-week), we decided to go. So, what my daughter failed to tell us was that we would need tissues, lots of them!
Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again is just a fun, sweet, silly, poignant summer movie perfect for a Mother-Daughter evening out. The story line did a lot of flashing back and forth between Donna’s younger years and Sophie in the here and now as she was prepping for the grand opening party for the hotel she had renovated and dedicated to her late Mother, Donna.
I’m certainly not one to spoil your fun, so I am not going into detail about the movie plot and what happens, but let me just say, the cast was very easy on the eyes, as was the scenery; the music – well, its ABBA, of course you just wanted to get up and do all the cheesy Broadway choreography in the theater; and the messaging about the mother-daughter bond, importance of family and living in the moment was just what I needed today!
Life is short, the world is wide. I want to make some memories. (Young Donna in “Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again”)
